Our client is an established China-based investment holding company, with about 10,000 employees in Mainland and 400 employees in Hong Kong. They are now starting a new branch focusing on secondary/fixed-income/overseas investment and looking for a candidate who is experienced in relevant legal experience to lead their new Legal team.
Responsibilities:
To handle legal matters in relation to investment activities (secondary/fixed-income/overseas) and regulatory compliance matters;
To provide legal advice and support for group management and line managers on all legal matters across various Business Units and its subsidiaries and affiliates;
To draft, review and comment on a full range of legal and commercial documents and to lead negotiations for business deals; as well as legal and compliance review on credit review and contracts;
To identify risk areas and major potential risks of non-compliance, and make recommendation for remedial measure, control improvement and risk mitigation;
To conduct research on regulatory updates and analyze practical implication to the Group;
To liaise, monitor and manage the services of external counsel, paralegal and professional advisers;
To lead the Department of Legal and Compliance.
Requirements:
A Qualified Lawyer with at least 8 years of relevant experience;
Prior working experience in a Chinese corporate legal capacity in financial services / investment, SFC Type 9, or related field with a fast-paced, fast-evolving and dynamic environment is preferred;
Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
